About this website
This site explains the concepts behind medication dosing — what terms like loading dose, maintenance dose, half-life and titration mean, and why dosing decisions belong to a prescriber. It deliberately publishes no actual doses for any medicine.
This site never publishes actual doses. Not for any medicine, not as an example, not "just for reference". Only the person who prescribes for you can set a dose. This site is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
Purpose
This site aims to provide clear, factual information so readers can understand:
- What dosing terminology actually means
- Why a dose is not a fixed property of a medicine
- Which factors make the same medicine dosed differently for different people
- How to read a label or leaflet without self-prescribing
- Who to ask when you have a question about your own dose
What this site provides
- Plain-language definitions of dosing concepts
- Explanations of schedules, routes and formulations in general terms
- Guidance on reading labels, leaflets and warnings
- Reference material with no product promotion
What this site does NOT provide
This site does not:
- Publish doses, milligram amounts, frequencies or medication combinations — for any drug, in any context, not even as an illustrative example
- Diagnose, treat or recommend any medicine
- Replace a prescriber, a pharmacist or a clinical reference
- Answer individual questions about your own medication
- Help you calculate a dose for yourself or anyone else
Scope and limitations
Dosing is individual. It depends on the person, the indication, the other medicines involved, organ function and much more — which is exactly why this site describes concepts and never numbers. If you need to know a dose, ask the person who prescribed it or a pharmacist. Never change a dose on your own, and if you may be facing an overdose or an emergency, call your local emergency or poison control number immediately.
A long-term reference project
